Terri Sale

Terri Sale is an Associate Director at UC Berkeley’s Office of Technology Licensing where she licenses UC Berkeley’s innovations in medical devices, research tools, microfluidics and other life science technologies.

Prior to joining UC Berkeley, Terri was Patent Counsel for Exelixis for two years where she worked with pharmaceutical, biotechnology and plant genetic technologies. Terri later became Associate General Counsel at Bio-Rad Laboratories for eight years, where she licensed life science and diagnostic technologies and was responsible for managing the company’s worldwide patent and trademark portfolios.

Prior to joining Bio-Rad, Terri was a patent attorney with the law firm Fulbright & Jaworski and with the U.S. Navy, Office of General Counsel.

Terri holds a J.D. from Franklin Pierce Law Center and a B.S. in Biotechnology – Genetics from the University of Maryland. Terri is also a member of the California State Bar and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
